It started with a craft and a dream

I started this business as a means of occupying my hands and my brain while also helping others. I am a one-woman operation, though I sometimes employ the help of my eager and creative 6-year-old, Nova, and my tech-savvy husband, Justin.

Spirit Recovered was officially established in 2020, just amid the pandemic outbreak, when I was just over 1 year sober, 6 months pregnant, and newly jobless due to the virus. It began as an outlet for my frustrated pregnancy hormones, but quickly became a way to connect with others in the recovery community world-wide.Since our beginning we’ve made friends all over the United States and have maintained a positive and growing recovery community of our own. We’ve also been able to consistently donate 10% of our profits to nonprofit treatment facilities, education and outreach programs, and struggling individuals nationwide.

Supporting our small business does more than fuel some crazy pipe-dream of a stay-at-home-mom. It helps to keep food on our table, electricity in our home, clothes and tuition for our children. It allows me to continue staying home to care for my newborn, toddler, and first-grader. More importantly, it helps addicts all over the country to find recovery and support, while spreading awareness and bringing an end to the stigma associated with addiction, mental illness, and other issues plaguing society today.

My name is Emily M. I live in sunny Florida with my husband of 5 years, and our 3 children–Nova, Elara, and Atlas.
I am an addict in recovery who has battled depression, anxiety, borderline personality disorder, and postpartum psychosis. I aim to end the stigma associated with these and other illnesses by spreading education and awareness.
I love to create and help others, and operating my small business allows me to do both!
